1840-1841 MATCHED TRIO 1D BLACKS PL.1A (SG2) PL.1B (SG2) AND 1D RED PL.1C (SG7/SPEC AS8) LETTERED BL. Fine to very fine used1d black pl.1a (SG2) lettered BL, four close to fine margins, fine strike red Maltese cross and clearly shows 10 o'clock NW square. Matched fine 1d black pl.1b (SG2), four close to fine margins, red Maltese cross and shows 7 and 10 o'clock ray flaws NW square. Plate 1b showing constant variety 'TOP NW SQUARE DOUBLE' (Lichfield). Accompanied by fine to very fine used 1d red pl.1c (SG7/Spec AS8) lettered BL, four close to fine margins and with slight plate wear. 1c also shows 'TOP NW SQUARE DOUBLE' and thinner upper squares and check letters following plate repair.
