1840-41 MATCHED TRIO 1D BLACKS PL.1A (SG2), PL.1B (SG2) AND PENNY RED PL.1C (SG7 SPEC AS8) LETTERED TE. Fine used 1840 1d black pl.1a (SG2) lettered TE, fine to very fine margins, neat red Maltese cross and clearly showing 5 and 10 o'clock ray flaws NW square. Matched fine 1d black pl.1b (SG2), four close to very large margins, light strike red Maltese cross, natural printing flaw above 'O' OF ONE' and showing 7 and 10 o'clock ray flaws. Also 1d red pl.1c (SG7/Spec AS8) lettered TE, close but clear at upper left otherwise fine margins, on reverse thin spot and some creasing, black Maltese cross. The plate 1c clearly shows THINNER CHECK LETTERS AND UPPER SQUARES following plate repair. A fine trio. (3 items). (Ref 141945).
