1840-41 MATCHED TRIO 1D BLACKS PL.1A (SG2), PL.1B (SG2) AND PENNY RED PL.1C (SG7) LETTERED LA. Very fine used 1d black pl.1a (SG2) lettered LA, fine margins, very fine red Maltese cross and clearly showing 5 and 10 o'clock ray flaws NW square. Also fine used 1d black pl.1b (SG2) fine four margins, red Maltese cross without ray flaws but both blacks show left line extends slightly below (Lichfield). Matched with fine 1d red pl.1c following plate repair (SG7/AS8b), fine margins, fine strike Manchester 'fishtail' distinctive Maltese cross (Spec A2uf) and showing 'L' very faint in letter square. Very fine trio (3 items). (Ref 141828).
