1840-1841 MATCHED PAIR 1D BLACK PL.1B (SG2) AND 1D RED (SG7) LETTERED MJ, 1D BLACK WITH RE-ENTRY. Used 1d black pl.1B (SG2) lettered MJ, small tear at left but good to fine margins, cancelled red Maltese cross. 1d black shows SLIGHT RE-ENTRY MARKS NE SQUARE AND 'Y' OF PENNY', unlisted by SG but noted by Litchfield. Matched with good used 1d red (SG7), diagonal bend but four margins, cancelled black Maltese cross. The 1d red does not show re-entry marks, presumably due to plate wear. (Ref 141125).
