1744 EARLIEST RECORDED BLANDFORD HAND STAMP (DT21). Fine letter from Blandford dated August 24th 1744 "For the Revd. Mr Dalton, Rector of Cucklington/to be Left at the post office in Shafton Dorsett", on reverse good to fine strike "BLAND/FORD" two line hand stamp in black (DT21). This strike pre dates the earliest known Blandford hand stamp in the county cat. by 4 years. (Ref 110843).
