1839 MAIL NEWTON ABBOT TO BASINGSTOKE WITH BOXED 'MISSENT/TO WILY', WILTSHIRE (WL823). Fine wrapper from Newton Abbot to 'George Lamb Esqre, Basingstoke, Hants' post paid '10' and despite being clearly addressed it was evidently missorted to Wiltshire and on front fine strike of the rare octagonal framed hand stamp 'MISSENT/TO WILY' in black (WL823). On reverse 'NEWTON ABBOT' date stamp MA 6 1839 and 'WILEY' date stamp MR 7 1839. Fine and rare usage. (Ref 131270).
