    1732 'SH' LONDON GENERAL POST RECEIVER'S HAND STAMP OF SAMUEL HARDING ON LETTER LONDON TO BRANDON, NORFOLK. Fine letter from London dated May 30 1732 'To Cyrill Wyche Esqr., att Hockwold cum Wilton, near Brandon in Norfolk' and charged '3'. On reverse manuscript 'Thomas Brewster paid 4d', presumably 3d for a journey of under 80 miles London to Brandon and 1d Postmasters perk for local delivery. Also on reverse good to fine strike 'SH' circular hand stamp of the London General Post receiver Samuel Harding, part overstruck London Bishop mark. Samuel Harding, a tailor was also a General Post receiver in St. Martins Lane and used a circular hand stamp from 1732-1740. (Ref 129118).
