1852 LETTER CANADA TO HALIFAX/WEST-STREET UDC/PL.149(PB)(SG8). 1852 letter from 'Lower Canada' dated October 12th 1852 (no Canadian handstamps) addressed to Sowerby Bridge near Halifax and presumably carried privately to the UK and put into the mail at Leeds where a fine four margined 1d imperf (SG 8) plate 149 lettered PB was affixed and tied Leeds '447' numeral. On front good strike WEST-STREET udc in blue and SOWERBY-BRIDGE date stamp NO 22 1852 in green. Unusual usage. (Ref 55261).
