A good to fine example of the original Postal Notice promoting the 1911 Aerial Post dated August 1911. Notice advises 'AERIAL POST By Sanction of His Majesty's Postmaster-General. IN COMMEMORATION OF THE CORONATION THIER MAJESTIES THE KING AND QUEEN. THE NET PROFIT DERIVED WILL BE DEVOTED TO A PUBLIC CHARITY TO BE APPROVED BY POSTMASTER-GENERAL'. The notice advises a commencement date of 9th September 1911 under the regulations of the G.P.O. ordinary Inland and Foreign Mail Services, it advises that only special pictorial Post Cards and Envelopes can be used and that they must be posted in 'special boxes',listing the eleven locations where these boxes can be found. It describes the postal stationery to which a stamp must be affixed including extra postage for those posted abroad, the nature of the special postmark, that no letters can be sent registered mail and that the stationery can be ordered by post to include wholesale orders. This notice has some creasing as to be expected but a very rare survivor and a superb item to open a display.
