1879 TENDER, HEAD DIE PROOF. A very fine head die proof for the 1879 tender in black on white glazed card, 93 x 60, Queen's head without crown and uncleared surround, head is close to the final design but shows differences in the Queen's hair. Proof with date stamp 'May 2 1879' and 'BEFORE HARDENING'. Rare. (Ref 133816).
