1843 MAIL HAWKSHEAD TO PRESTON WITH 'HAWKSHEAD/PENNY POST' HAND STAMP IN BLUE (LA492). Fine letter from Hawkshead to 'Mefsrs. Buck and Dicksons, Solrs. Preston' with very fine 1d (SG8) lettered OG with four fine margins tied superb strike black Maltese cross of Ambleside. On front fine strike 'Hawkshead/Penny Post' hand stamp in blue (LA492) and on reverse AMBLESIDE date stamp NO 3 1843 (WE5) in same colour. (Ref 125410).
