CIRCA 1840 CONTEMPORARY REPRODUCTION OF SPOONER'S CARICATURE NO. 2 'POSTAGE ONE PENNY' IN BLACK. A superb unused envelope with reproduction of Spooner's caricature No.2, circa 1840, printer unknown, in black on a thin white soft wove paper similar to those used for the original caricatures. Design very similar to the original, but with 'POSTAGE ONE PENNY' at foot (text slants to the right), at foot 'A.MULHEADED.R.A' but without publisher's name. Referenced page 61 of Evans. Very rare.
