1890 'GUILDHALL' MASTER DIE PROOF OF THE 1870 ½D ISSUE (SPEC DP69). A superb example of the 1890 die proof taken from the 1870 ½d plate in black on white wove paper, 73 x 60mm. In April 1890 consideration was given to using the dies of the line engraved stamps in connection with the Jubilee celebrations and proofs were taken, distinguished by the darker outside line to the plate but were not used.
