1971 ROYAL MAIL POSTAL STRIKE/RUTLAND USAGE. Envelope from Rutland to Leicestershire with a private delivery printed receipt for 15 pence with a 'RUTLAND' purple cancellation dated 6 MARCH 1971. There was a postal strike from 20th January 1971 until 8th March 1971. A good example of a local entrepreneur, the Post Office rate at that time was 3p! (Ref 123994).
