1D ARCHER EXPERIMENTAL PERFORATION PL.96 (SG16b)(RL) ON 1853 ENVELOPE SHEERNESS TO LONDON. 1853 envelope Sheerness addressed to "Sir Baldwin Walker, Admiralty, Somerset House, London" with a good to fine 1d Archer pl.96 lettered RL, centred to right but fine perforations and tied fine "699" numeral of Sheerness. Back stamped SHEERNESS DE 10 1853 and London date stamp 12 DE 1853. One of only four Archers used on cover in Kent the others being pl.94 (Ramsgate) and two unplated examples from Tunbridge Wells.
