Fine envelope (flap missing) from the Crimea to "Mifs A Cadell, Cockenzie, Prestonpans, Scotland" endorsed "Via Marseilles" with a strip of three die 2 1d L.C.14 (spec C6) lettered HJ HK HL, centred to lower right and HL corner fault, tied two good to fine strikes of the Crimean "OXO" cancellation. On reverse PRESTONPANS back stamp MR 14 1856. Envelope from Colonel Simmons, who was His Majesty's Commissioner to Omar Pasha, the Turkish Commander. (Ref 110749).
