1575 MAIL FROM DOVER TO LONDON, PRIVATELY CARRIED WITHOUT CHARGE OR MANUSCRIPT. Fine letter, apparently from Dover in 1575 written by a C Dugant to 'the worshipful Benandi Corsyne, merchant stranger by Grasse Street conndyte at London' without postal charge or any other manuscript. The letter states 'Barty being in dowt that his wife is not in London, therefore I write to you to receive a hoylanden with 32,000 of Winchelsea billets, which you must bestow has he hath given order. The hoy to remain with you the mariners you must give 3s each, the Englshmen 6s each, the Flemmings, the rest of their wages they shall have at Dover.' Ex the personal collection of Robson Lowe.
