125. 1874 Q.V. ½d green newspaper wrapper used locally in London with 'NPB' barred cancellation. On reverse manuscript 'Not Known' with two signatures and on front very fine strike of the scarce 'London.E/RL' cds JA/29/74. RL - Return Letter. (*) (Ref 63039) £45.00

126. SLOPER CANCELLATION. 1874 Q.V. ½d mauve postcard used locally in London cancelled with right half of the experimental sloper arrow - postcard REDIRECTED within London with the circular 'Crown/R' Inspector's mark. Very fine. (*) (Ref 62850) £45.00

       

127. LINCOLNSHIRE. 1874 printed wrapper (Queen Ann's Bounty correspondence) Wragby to London with ½d bantam (SG 48) plate 6 tied Wragby duplex MY/28/74 with the usual 'More to Pay' handstamp and circular '1d' charge mark. (*) (Ref 62603) £45.00

128. REDIRECTED MAIL. 1876 wrapper, slight toning, from Germany to Leith with 20 Pfenning cancelled 1876 German datestamp REDIRECTED to St. David's Fife without additional postal charge and fine strike of the Leith duplex MY/12/76 on front. Unusual. (*) (Ref 61101) £95.00

       

129. ESSEX. 1876 envelope Walton-on-the-Naze to Derby with 1d plate 172 (SG 43) lettered RK tied fine strike of the 'F74' barred numeral of Walton. Backstamped Walton AU/14/76. Parmenter Rarity Guide 'G' - very rare. Small tear clear of stamp and cancellation . (*) (Ref 61210) £20.00

GB USED IN DANISH WEST INDIES. 1876 envelope (slight imperfections particularly on reverse) from St. Thomas to Tobago with GB 4d vermilion plate 15 (SG 152) tied 'St. Thomas Paid' 'C51' duplex SP/16/76. On reverse Tobago receiver SP/21/1876. SG 152 on cover cats. £850.00. (*) (Ref 62112) £575.00

REMARKABLE COMBINATION OF 8d ORANGE (SG 156) AND 2½d ROSY-MAUVE X 2 TO ROTTERDAM. 1876 wrapper registered mail London to Rotterdam with this very rare combination (which we have not seen before) paying 4d registration, 4d late fee and 2½d double rate postage. Stamps tied 'R32' numeral with registered datestamp OC/17/76. (*) (Ref 60770) £795.00

132. EDINBURGH DOTTED CIRCLE (Arundel A10). 1877 envelope, used locally in Edinburgh, with pair of ½d bantam (SG 48) tied good to fine strikes MY/16/77. This month of use unrecorded by Arundel. (*) (Ref 61094) £40.00

       

133. GB USED IN HAITI. 1877 envelope from Cap Haitien to St. Thomas with fine 4d sage green plate 15 (SG 153) tied 'E53' barred numeral of Port au Prince. Envelope with filing fold clear of stamp - on front Port au Prince cds JU/10/77 and on reverse St. Thomas receiver JU/14/77. Scarce usage. (*) (Ref 62110) £475.00

134. VERY SCARCE PRINTED MATTER RATE. 1880 very fine complete wrapper Oxford to Bicester with 1880 2½d blue plate 19 (SG 142) tied neat Oxford cds JY/9/80. Stamp paying ½d printed matter rate and 2d registration fee. (*) (Ref 60769) £175.00

       

135. POSTAL FISCAL POSTALLY USED. 1881 envelope from Tunbridge Wells to the eminent philatelist 'F.A. Philbrick', Kent with very fine 1d Draft Revenue (SG F7 (2)) cancelled Tunbridge Wells squared circle OC/25/81. Backstamped Bickley 26/OC/81. Cat. £150.00. ( (Ref 61615) £110.00

136. POSTALLY USED FOREIGN BILL REVENUE. 1882 envelope, sent registered mail locally in Liverpool, with very fine pair of 3d Foreign Bill Revenues neatly tied by Liverpool squared circles AP/3/82. Rare and very attractive. (*) (Ref 61623) £275.00

       

137. POSTALLY USED FOUR PENCE CARMINE CUSTOMS REVENUE. 1882 envelope used locally in Liverpool with revenue tied neat Liverpool squared circle MY/1/82. (*) (Ref 62056) £225.00

138. POSTALLY USED 1/6d CUSTOMS REVENUE. 1882 envelope, sent registered mail within London, with fine example of this very scarce revenue cancelled Liverpool squared circle MY/1/82. Not tied but clearly belongs. Very rare. (*) (Ref 62071) £400.00

       

139. POSTALLY USED 'CUSTOMS' REVENUE. 1882 envelope used locally in Liverpool with one penny pink postal fiscal overprinted 'Customs' in black with date slugs 8-5-60. Fiscal tied Liverpool squared circle MY/6/82 and with blue crayon mark presumably where noticed by postal official but no postage due applied. Rare. (*) (Ref 62052) £350.00
