93. COMBINATION COVER. 1860 envelope Liverpool to Edinburgh with 1d star (SG 40) plate 46 lettered IJ and 2d blue plate 8 (SG 45) both tied Liverpool duplex' 21/JU/60. Unusual and attractive combination. (*) (Ref 55102) £95.00

94. MAIL TO HOLLAND. 1860 fine wrapper London to Amsterdam with pair of 4d carmine (SG 66) tied London '15' numerals. Stamps paying ¬-½oz 8d rate via Ostend. Backstamped JY/14/60. (*) (Ref 60784) £95.00

       

95. EUSTON SQUARE STATION SPECIAL 6d LATE FEE. Small piece with 2d plate 8 (creased), 4d carmine (SG 66a) and 1d star (SG 40) tied '964' numerals of Euston Square Station in a shade of BLUE. On reverse Euston Square Station datestamp AU/31/60. Several London stations for additional payment of late fee of 6d would open up mail bags. Very scarce. (*) (Ref 57156) £140.00

96. MAIL TO HOLLAND. 1861 wrapper London to Amsterdam with pair of 4d carmines (SG 66) and single SG 40 (short perfs) plate 43 lettered FC tied London '47 47' cancel. Stamps paying the 8d ¬-½oz rate and 1d late fee. Backstamped MR/12/61. (*) (Ref 59994) £95.00

       

97. CHANNEL ISLANDS. 1861 very fine entire Jersey to France with 4d rose-carmine (SG 66) tied neat '409' duplex of Jersey dated AP/14/61 - via London with Bordeaux and Blaye receivers. Fine usage. (*) (Ref 61684) £150.00

MISSENT USAGE. 1861 entire London to Bradford, Wilts bearing 1d star plate 43 (SG 40) lettered AA tied Pearson Hill '6' parallel duplex machine JU/6/61 with superb strike of the 'Missent/To Bradford/Yorks' handstamp on front in blue. Filing fold clear of handstamp. A very scarce and attractive usage. (*) (Ref 51705) £275.00

       

99. 'NOT KNOWN' MANUSCRIPT. 1861 envelope Darlington to London with SG 40 (damaged) tied Darlington duplex AU/12/61 with London duplex underneath. On reverse manuscript 'Not Known as Directed' with signatures from two postal officials. (*) (Ref 57748) £15.00

REGISTERED MAIL/THREE COLOUR COMBINATION. 1861 envelope London to Paris with pair of 4d carmine (SG 66), 6d lilac (SG 69) and 2d blue plate 8 (SG 45) tied London '24' numerals with London 'Crown/Registered' handstamp, straight line 'charge' handstamp and various other cancellations including London registered 12/SP/61. TRANSATLANTIC MAIL. 1861 wrapper London to New York with 2 x 1/- pale green (SG 73) and 1d star (SG 40) tied London '44 44' numerals - stamps paying 2/- postage and 1d late fee - with manuscript 'City of Washington from Queenston' (Inman Line Steamer). Backstamped SP/25/61. A most attractive usage. (*) (Ref 61887) £375.00

102. GB USED ABROAD - 'A81' - MAIL BOAT CANCELLATION. 1862 envelope, on reverse embossed crest 'HMS Queen' with 6d lilac (SG 69) cancelled fine strike of the 'A81' barred numeral, backstamped London JA/22/62. A clean and very scarce usage. (*) (Ref 54799) £875.00

       

103. 1862 envelope London to Paris with fine 4d bright red plate 3 (SG 79) placed at upper left cancelled London 'SW21' duplex with another second strike at upper right. Good usage. (*) (Ref 62108) £25.00

REMARKABLE 6d EMBOSSED ENVELOPE UPRATED WITH 1d STARS (SG 40) TO INDIA. 1862 stamped to order 6d embossed usage London to Madras uprated with 3 1d stars (SG 40) plate 47 lettered KH-KJ tied London N19 duplex' AU.25.62 paying the 9d rate. 105. MAIL TO MAURITIUS. 1863 envelope Naas, Ireland to Mauritius with strip of 4 and pair die II reserve plate 17 (SG 40) lettered CC-CD and CE, CF tied '346' numerals of Naas. Backstamped Naas JA/17 and Mauritius FE/22/63. Stamps paying 6d ¬-½oz rate via Suez & Southampton with '4½d' local handstamp in red on front. Good usage. (*) (Ref 59072) £225.00

107. LINCOLNSHIRE/REGISTERED MAIL. 1865 wrapper Grimsby to Denmark with 2d blue plate 9 (SG 45), 1d plate 80 (SG 43) and 1/- green (SG 90) tied Grimsby duplex' JA/3/65. 1/- affected by filing fold. Various registration handstamps and Danish receiver. Stamps paying 9d postage and 6d registration via Belgium. (*) (Ref 62632) £175.00

108. 'GT.WESTERN/DIST S.C.' MISSENT HANDSTAMP OF THE GREAT WESTERN RAILWAY. Two envelopes, 1865 and 1867, from Derry to South Devon and London to Glamorgan respectively with two good to fine strikes of the two different handstamps (Wilson 349 & 349a). A very scarce pair.
