504. 1857 die II plate 41 rose-red on white paper (SG 40). A good large part o.g. block of 18 lettered CG-EL, slight perf separation and some staining but the twelve impressions CG-DL show signs of re-entry with thinner check letters and strong N.E. squares and EI constant variety. 505. 1857 die II plate 42 (SG 40). A fine used example lettered AA showing very fine RE-ENTRY MARKS cancelled '609' barred numeral. (*) (Ref 63772) £15.00

       

506. 1857 wrapper Daventry to London with fine SG 29 in a deeper shade plate 42 lettered IG cancelled '238' numeral of Daventry. Backstamped Daventry MR/11/1857. (*) (Ref 56745) £30.00

507. 1856 die II 1d star red-brown on white paper (SG 37 Spec. C8a) USED ON COVER. Envelope Rotherham to Doncaster bearing a very fine example of this RARE PRINTING from plate 44 lettered JH cancelled 1844 numeral. Backstamped Rotherham NO/13/1856. 510. 1857 die II plate 46 perf 16 (SG 36) USED BLOCK OF 4. A very attractive multiple lettered BD-CE, BE corner bends otherwise very fine, neatly cancelled Greenock experimental duplex' JY/30/1858. Very attractive and very scarce dated block. Cat. 3475.00. (PT) (Ref 63610) £300.00

511. 'OXFORD UNION SOCIETY' UNOFFICIAL OVERPRINT Type 45 in red - vertical overprint reading upwards (Spec. PP148). A good used example plate 46 lettered BH (SG 40) showing RE-ENTRY MARKS IN UPPER SQUARES and POSTAGE. Fine overprint, indistinct cancellation. (*) (Ref 60244) £25.00

520. 1857 die II plate 56 (SG 40). A good part o.g. block of 6 lettered SA/TC, slight soiling on reverse, SA-SC with constant varieties and TA-TC in the first state later retouched by hand. (*) (Ref 63804) £240.00

521. 'J & C BOYD & CO 7 FRIDAY STREET' UNOFFICIAL UNDERPRINT Type 5 in red (Spec. PP11). A fine used SG 40 plate 57 lettered AH with partial strike of this scarce underprint. Also normal SG 40 (plate 47) lettered AD. (*) (Ref 60285) £85.00
