	22. 'CHELMSFORD/D29' MILEAGE MARK (EX 78). 1803 part wrapper Chelmsford to Prescott, Lancs dated 15th August 1803 with good to fine strike of this curious mileage mark with the number prefixed 'D' - not seen by us before (see note in County Catalogue where it is suggested that this mark was applied to mail from the Barracks at Danbury). 	24. CARRIER'S MAIL. 1813 letter, with invoice, from Glasgow addressed to 'Robert Campbell Esq of Ardchattan c/o Mr John McKeichan Merchant Oban' and endorsed 'W.a parcel'. Letter dated 4th June 1813. It was possible to send mail via a private courier as long as it accompanied a parcel, as here, a practice much abused. () (Ref 57650) £45.00*	25. NORFOLK/PRIVATELY CARRIED MAIL. 1831 wrapper on a thick sugar paper addressed to 'Miss Smythe Dereham' also endorsed 'By Warner' - a local letter goods carrier. Printed life assurance questionnaire from The Bank, London to Plaistow, Essex with 'Moorgate St/1d Paid' handstamp in black and London datestamp DE/20/1839 returned to The Bank with 'T.P/Plaistow' handstamp in blue and handstamp '3' in black. Backstamped DE/23/1839. Very unusual usage showing special reduced rate during the 4d period. () (Ref 56235) £60.00*
