1. 1840 V.R. OFFICIAL WITH TRIAL CANCELLATION. A used example lettered FF, touched in several places, cancelled two partial strikes of the CONCENTRIC RINGS experimental cancellation used in fugative ink COLOUR TRIALS by Perkins Bacon. 4. LONDON DOCKWRA. 1773 letter used locally in London dated AP/7/1773 with good to fine strike of the 'The General Office' Dockwra (L336) with 'TH' within. (*) (Ref 59436) £125.00

   

5. CHESHIRE. 1790 entire (small fault at top) from Lyme nr. Stockport dated 23rd May 1790 to London with very fine strike of the circular 'Stockport/176' mileage mark in black (CH 736). Fine clean usage. (*) (Ref 59576) £85.00

6. MANCHESTER. 1790 entire Manchester to Macclesfield with very fine strike of the two-line 'Manches/ter' convex handstamp in black (M35). Letter dated June 25th 1790. Very clean usage. (*) (Ref 59570) £75.00

   

7. ROYALTY. 1813 wrapper London to Swaffham, Norfolk, slight toning, written and clearly signed 'Clarence' who became King William IV (1765-1837). London FREE FRANK 2/AP/1813. (*) (Ref 59550) £200.00

8. CROSS POST. 1819 letter from Tything (Worcester) to Market Weighton dated January 18th 1819 with manuscript 'X POST' at lower left and postal charge of '11'. Good example of mail not travelling via London. (*) (Ref 59542) £85.00

   

9. BUCKINGHAMSHIRE. 1820 wrapper Wendover to London with fine strike of the 'Wendover/40' mileage mark in black (BU 313). Backstamped 16/JU/1820, some two years earlier than recorded in County Catalogue. (*) (Ref 59580) £45.00

10. YORKSHIRE. 1820? wrapper Doncaster to London with good to fine strike of the 'Doncaster/159' mileage mark in black. (*) (Ref 59590) £12.50

   

11. DEVON. 1826 entire from Bachelor's Hall Cottage to Plymouth dated 4th April 1826 with very fine strike of the distinctive 'scroll-type' 'PAID AT TAVISTOCK' handstamp in blue (DN 1335). Very fine clean usage. (*) (Ref 59577) £125.00

12. SIR ROBERT PEEL SIGNATURE. 1827 un-stamped FREE FRONT dated August 11 from York to Bath signed 'Peel' at lower left. Sir Robert Peel (1788-1850) Prime Minister 1834-5 and 1841-6 and founder of the Police Force. (*) (Ref 59549) £55.00
