138. POSTAGE DUE. 1954 postcard New York to Belfast with 1c and 3c United Nations stamps cancelled UN New York OC/13/1954. Postage underpaid with '4d' handstamp and postage due added. (*) (Ref 58372) £10.00

139. POSTAGE DUE. 1954 envelope from Nigeria to St. Benets Abbey, Cornwall with Nigerian 2d stamp cancelled Nigeria 12/NO/54, postage underpaid, with 'T' and '1d' postage due handstamps and 1d postage due label added and cancelled Bodmin 9/DE/54. (*) (Ref 48864) £12.50

   

140. MAIL RECOVERED FROM AIR CRASH PRESTWICK (Scotland) 1954. Envelope, with content, London to Ontario with 4d and 1/- Wildings cancelled London 20/DE/1954 with damage to envelope and stamps through crash, but two fine strikes of the cachet 'Salvaged mail aircraft crash/Prestwick 25.12.54'. 141. POSTAGE DUE. 1955 envelope from West Kensington to Southsea with Irish stamp uncancelled and not accepted for postage, with West Kensington datestamp 12/AP/55. Boxed '5d/To Pay' handstamp and 5d due added and cancelled Portsmouth 13/AP/55. Unusual. (*) (Ref 56633) £17.50

     

142. 1955 envelope sent registered airmail Tangier to New York with KGVI 5/- Festival (SG 510) and 1½d wilding x 2 and 1/6d wilding (damaged) all overprinted 'Tangier' tied Tangier cds 29/JY/55. (*) (Ref 55714) £15.00

143. ADVERTISING. 1958 envelope with 2 x QEII 1½d meter marks used locally in Wadebridge, Cornwall cancelled 26.6.58 with advert from a timber merchants. (*) (Ref 59126) £5.00

     

144. SCOTLAND/MARITIME. Circa 1960 envelope to Kilmarnock with 3d Commonwealth Games commem. cancelled two strikes of the 'By Loch Lomond/Mailboat' handstamp in blue. Also postcard of the Loch and steamer. Most unusual and the first example of this handstamp we have seen. (*) (Ref 56330) £175.00

145. £1 CASTLE COMMERCIALLY USED. Circa 1960 'Advice Card' from Bradford to Sweden with a most unusual franking comprising £1 castle, 2/6d castles x 4 and wildings 3d, 6d and 1/- x 2 sent airmail with 'Post Office Express Delivery' label also affixed. 147. POSTAGE DUE. 1966 envelope Harrow to Switzerland with 4d wilding cancelled 17/NOV/1966, postage underpaid with Swiss 5c and 50c dues cancelled 'T' handstamps. (*) (Ref 58306) £12.50

       

148. CASTLES. 1967 2/1d grey Registered envelope London to California uprated with 2/6d castle, 2d and 1/3d wildings cancelled London 5/JA/67. Stamps paying 6/- - i.e. 4 x the Zone B 1/6d rate. (*) (Ref 56190) £25.00

149. 1968 'Post Office receipt' with 2 x 2/6d castles and 3 x 4d pre-decimal machins cancelled London 6/OCT/69. On reverse 6d and 2 x 1/- pre-decimal machins cancelled Marple, Stockport datestamps. Slight wrinkling and purpose unknown but unusual. (*) (Ref 55185) £22.50

       

150. 1969 registered envelope London to Winnipeg, Canada with 5/- castle, 2/6d square high value and 1/6d Cathedrals tied London cds' 3/JU/69. Attractive usage. (*) (Ref 57951) £25.00

151. 1969 'Post Office Receipt' with 4d and 3 x 10d (one damaged) pre-decimal machins cancelled London 8/SEP/69. On reverse 6d pre-decimal machin and 2/6d castle (damaged) cancelled Crewe datestamp 9/SEP/69. Slight wrinkling and purpose unknown. (*) (Ref 55202) £12.50

153. POST OFFICE TRAINING SCHOOL. An example of the QEII £1.27 registered envelope with fictious registration label at upper left and false address cancelled 'School Specimen 1st Class Postage Paid' large cachet in red and vertical black bars.
