297. SG 17 WITH DOUBLE PERFORATIONS. A fine used 1d star die I plate 176 S.c.16 (SG 17) showing double strike of perforations at top and sides. Fine variety - AE a missing Imprimatur lettering. (*) (Ref 56193) £75.00

298. 1854 1d star plate 177 (SG 17). Good used example lettered PC, centred upper right, stamp shows BLIND 'P'. (*) (Ref 58938) £10.00
     

299. 1854 die I 1d star S.C.16 WATERMARK INVERTED (SG 17Wi). A fine to very fine used pair from reserve plate 1 lettered OE/OF, a little off-centre, cancellations clear of Queen's profile. Attractive and scarce multiple. (PT) (Ref 55304) £275.00

300. 1854 2d 'SHORT 'A' ROW STAMP'. 1855 ladies envelope, slight imperfections, from Maidstone to France with 2 x 2d plate 4 S.C. 14 (SG 23a) lettered AB and BB tied Maidstone sideways duplex' JY/12/1855. Impression AB being a much shorter stamp due to perforation adjustment, BB with imperfections. Unusual. (*) (Ref 59060) £275.00

303. 1857 wrapper Whitchurch, Salop to London with fine pair SG 29 plate 27 lettered GG/GH tied '876' numerals of Whitchurch. Backstamped JA/14/1857. Clean usage. (*) (Ref 56729) £40.00

304. 1857 TRANSITIONAL SHADE. Wrapper (side flap removed) used locally in London to Furnivals Inn (not the Coffee House) with a fine die II 1d star plate 27 in pale red on transitional paper (Spec. 305. 1d TRANSITIONAL pale rose shade (Spec. C9(3)). 1857 letter Oxford to Sheffield with a very fine example plate 36 lettered NH tied Oxford sideways duplex AU/22/1857. Filing fold well clear of stamp. (*) (Ref 56717) £45.00

308. DIFFERENT CANCELLATIONS. Small piece with die II 1d star (SG 40) plate 46 lettered SL with constant variety tied London 'W12' duplex OC/24/60. 309. O.U.S. OVERPRINT. A fine 1857 1d star plate 48 (SG 40) lettered IC cancelled Oxford '603' and with very fine O.U.S. overprint in red reading upwards (Spec. PP148). (*) (Ref 56107) £30.00
