141. 1d BLACK MULTIPLE USAGE ON COVER. 1840 wrapper Torquay to Basingstoke dated NOV/6/1840 with two four margined horizontal pairs of 1d black plate 1b lettered AB/AC and AD/AE tied red M.C.'s. Light fold affects AC and AE and AC surface rub at upper right nevertheless a most unusual and attractive usage. RPS cert. 172532 notes those defects and also comments 'treated for stains'. 143. 1d plate 2 TF/TG/TH PLATE REPAIRS. A very fine lot, mostly fine, although some with corner bends. Comprising 1d black State I TF, TG, TH all four margins, 1d black State II TF, TG, TH - two very close but all four margins and showing excellent trl's. Also 1d red TF & TH State II latter four margins, also very rare strip of 3 TF-TH, TF & TH cut into but TG and TH in the rare State III (Spec. AS19). (Ref 57313) £1750.00
