    1843 MAIL STOKE UPON TRENT, STAFFS TO ASTBURY, CHESHIRE WITH HAND STAMP 'MISSENT TO' (BM173) AND 'BIRMINGHAM' DATE STAMP ALONGSIDE. Fine wrapper from Stoke upon Trent with fine printed billhead 'Herbert Minton and Company, Manufacturers of Porcelain and Earthenware' dated August 15 1843 to 'Thos. Reed Esq., The Grange, Nr. Astbury' with 1d (SG8) lettered HL, touched at right otherwise good margins and tied fair strike Newcastle under Line Maltese Cross in black. Evidently missorted and on front fair strike 'MISSENT TO' (BM173) and alongside 'BIRMINGHAM' date stamp AU 23 1843. On reverse 'NEWCASTLE UNDER LINE' date stamp AU 15 1843. Stamp shows unusual 'KISS PRINT' NE square and Postage. Ex. Willcocks. (Ref 129613).
