1830 MAIL CASTLE CARY, SOMERSET TO WELLS WITH 'SHEPTN. MALLET/5th. Clause Post' HAND STAMP IN BLACK (SO686). Fine letter from Castle Cary to 'William Parfitt Esq., Wells' dated 17th June 1830 and charged '4'. On front very fine strike boxed 'No.2' receiver's hand stamp of Castle Cary, on reverse, over flap, very fine strike of the large boxed hand stamp 'SHEPTN.MALLET/5th. Clause Post' in black (SO686). This hand stamp seldom seen struck so well. (Ref 129195).
