Fine envelope with letter dated Feb 8 1848 Birmingham to Henley in Arden with very fine 1d (SG8) lettered SB plate 69, fine four margins tied '75' numeral of Birmingham. On front very fine strike 'MOSELEY' udc in blue and on reverse BIRMINGHAM date stamp FE 9 1848. Writer observes 'in view of the approach of the Cholera he must ask them to remove .. the filthy nuisance..by the cesspit..' (Ref 71184).
