    1822-1826 RARE PRIVATE 'PAID' MARKS OF THE NORWICH UNION INSURANCE COMPANY. 1822-1823 trio of covers ex. the Norwich Union: 1822 usage dated Nov 25th with very fine 'Rl Arcade/2py P.Paid' London receiver's hand stamp in red (L507a), at left fine strike 'Norwich Union Office/Waterloo.Place' hand stamp in blue-green adjacent to 'Post Paid.' imprint; 1823 wrapper to Alton in Hants, paid '8' and fine strike 'PAID./Norwich Union Office/Waterloo-Place' hand stamp in blue-green with London PAID date stamp AU 16 1823(?); also 1823 wrapper to Barking in Essex with fine strike 'Rl Arcade/3py P.Paid' London receiver's hand stamp in red (L508a), at left fine strike 'Norwich Union Office/Waterloo-Place' hand stamp in blue-green adjacent to 'Post Paid.' imprint and lastly 1826 wrapper to Queen Street, Cheapside with 'Ludgate Hill/2py P.Paid' hand stamp in black (L507) and fine strike of the circular 'Norwich Union Office/Post PAID/LONDON' hand stamp in black part overstruck London date stamp MR 4 1826 in red.
