    1789 MAIL USED IN LONDON TO 'HERALDS OFFICE' WITH 'PLAYGILL' LONDON RECEIVER'S HAND STAMP (L375). Wrapper used locally in London addressed to 'Sir Isaac Herd Bt., Garter King at Arms, Heralds Office' dated Nov 20th 1789, on reverse good strike 'PLAYGILL' London Post straight line receiver's hand stamp in black (L375). Playgill was probably the receiver at Berkeley Square, this is the only recorded example of this hand stamp. Also on reverse fair strike Westminster Office Dockwra hand stamp type 4a (L363a) (PENNY at left) within 'W/FR'. (Ref 129241).
