    1726 MAIL BURTON IN KENDAL, LANCS TO LONDON WITH 'Lancafter' HAND STAMP TYPE AB (LA581). Wrapper, some tone spots, soiling and filing fold from Burton in Kendal, Lancs 'To Mr Moor In New Castle Court near Temple Barr, London', charged '4' and on reverse fine strike of the distinctive 'Lancafter' straight line hand stamp lower case type AB (LA581 28 x 5mm) in black. Wrapper dated October 25 1726. Faults but a rare early usage of this distinctive mark only recorded 1725-1726. (Ref 134699).
