    1740 MAIL LEDBURY, HEREFORDSHIRE TO LONDON WITH FIRST RECORDED DAY OF USE OF FIRST 'LED/BURY' HAND STAMP (HF225). Letter, some toning, creasing and slightly fragile, from Ledbury in Herefordshire 'To Saml. Child Esqr., and Compy., in Fleet Street, London' dated 3rd November 1740 and charged '4'. On reverse good to fine strike 'LED/BURY' two line hand stamp in black (HF225), the first hand stamp used in Ledbury and the first recorded date of use. Also on reverse London Bishop mark '5/NO'.
