1840 DORSET/'DORCHESTER PENNY POST' HAND STAMP (DT247) IN RED. 1840 mourning lettersheet from Sydling Dorchester to 'Mrs Horner Louth Lincolnshire' dated 4th June 1840 post paid '1' and on front good strike of the boxed 'Dorchester/Py Post' hand stamp in RED (DT247), very scarce in red and only recorded in 1840 in this colour. Also on front fine strike boxed 'No.2' receiving house hand stamp of Cerne Abbas and London PAID date stamp 5 JU 1840. (Ref 119682).
