Fine entire (although slightly fragile in some parts) from Southampton to Blandford Dorset dated September 1783, charged "3" and fine ms at lower left "Crofs Post" and on reverse good strike "SOUTH/HAMPTON" two line hand stamp in black (HA1243). A long personal letter, and "Crofs Post" referring to a direct route rather than a more expensive route via London. (Ref 111344).
