Entire Downham to 'John Griggs, Messing, Essex', charged '9' General Post altered to '10' to include postman's perk for local delivery, letter dated 13 Feb regarding buying of wheat and barley. On reverse good to fine strike 'DOWNHAM/97 mileage mark in black (NK122) - used two years later than county cat records, part overstruck London date stamp 14 FE 1829. (Ref 87393).
