1818 UNIQUE "BRIDPORT/137*" HAND STAMP IN BLACK (DT104). Very fine letter Bridport to "The Honble. Lord Clifford Poste Restante Rouen France" dated September 10th with ms "P1/10" and on front fine to very fine strike of the very rare distinctive "Bridport/137*" hand stamp in black (DT104). On front London PAID date stamp 12 SP 1818. Believed to be the only recorded example of this hand stamp, the "*" thought to be a screw head holding the cancellation together. (Ref 110297).
