Fine letter from Market Drayton to 'Mr R Looke, Attorney, Middlewich, Cheshire' dated 6th July 1782 and charged '3', on reverse very fine strike 'DRAYTON' straight line hand stamp in black (SH298), this hand stamp used one year earlier than County Catalogue records. Letter 'turned' and re-used to 'Revd Mr Hodges, Lane End' with fine strike 'MIDDLE/WICH' two line hand stamp in black (SH489). (Ref 133387).
