1984 PARCEL (300 X 200 X 50) USED IN BIRMINGHAM WITH 'FOUND OPEN IN TRANSIT' ADVICE NOTE AND CANCELLED 'BIRMINGHAM/BROKEN.PKTS.' DATE STAMP. A fine complete parcel, presumably opened and reassembled used locally in Birmingham and cancelled BIRMINGHAM date stamp, evidently found open with 'Royal Mail Parcel/As your parcel was found open in transit we have enclosed it in a plastic sack before sending it on...' still with original 'plastic sack' and Post Office label affixed 'We regret that this packet has been accidentally damaged/delayed in the post' and alongside very fine strike 'BIRMINGHAM/BROKEN.PKTS.' single ring date stamp 18 JA 84. A very scarce survivor. (Ref 128589).
