1842 PIECE POTTON, BEDS TO CAMBRIDGE WITH 'POTTON/PENNY POST' HAND STAMP (BE228). Piece with good used 1d (SG8) lettered DG, four close to good margins, fault at upper left, tied black Maltese cross of Biggleswade and on front light strike 'Potton/Penny Post' hand stamp in red (BE228). On reverse CAMBRIDGE date stamp AP 14 1842. Penny Post hand stamp used year later than County Catalogue records. (Ref 128443).
