Very fine used 1840 1d black pl.9 (SG2) lettered KE with fine four margins and cancelled fine strike red-brown Maltese cross, stamp showing vertical guideline 'E' square and horizontal guideline 'K' square and value. Matched with fine 1d red (SG7) on fine 1843 wrapper from London to Alnwick, 1d red with four close to fine margins and tied fine strike black Maltese cross. On front of cover good strike 'King William St.' receivers hand stamp in black (L514) and on reverse London date stamp 30 MY 1843. (Ref 133074).
